Autumn is my favorite season. What a treat to spend my first Fall weekend in Rocky Mountain National Park with John Fielder (well known Colorado landscape photographer). I enjoyed getting to know other photographers at his workshop and learned more about the conservancy efforts in the park. And yes, it really is this beautiful in person!  As much as I love people as my subjects, it was a take your breath away type of adventure traveling through the park at 9,000 ft. elevation with my camera and tripod… staying up late to get that evening hour glow and rising before dawn to capture the pink sunrise reflecting on the Rockies.  I used to wonder what all the Colorado hype was about and why when I moved here 15 months ago all I saw were people wearing the “C” flag symbol on their hats, their t-shirts and most proudly on their bumper stickers.  I’ve never seen a people so proud of their state.  But, now I understand…it’s the beauty, the friendly people, the outdoors that keeps everyone so happy.  Maybe John Denver had it right…”Rocky Mountain High” is the real deal.
