One of my favorite quotes about parenthood is “the days go slow, but the years go fast.” When your kids are little, you just can’t wait to see them reach the next milestone…the first word, first step, first tooth, and the list goes on and on.  And then, you blink and your baby is graduating high school! Where did the time go?  I have several clients come back to me once a year or even more to help keep those memories solid.

I love the ease of cell phone pics to record our lives.  Social media makes it even more convenient to share with family and friends.  With the push of button now, you can take quick images and selfies, make a book out of them within minutes and it arrives at your house a week later! Genius! So why pay money to have someone else take your picture?  I believe there is a place for both. If not, I would be out of job! What is the purpose of family portraiture?

There are so many reasons to hire a professional photographer, but I’d like to focus on just one: Family pictures should be your favorite pieces of art you hang in your home.  Enlarging your cell phone pictures at Walgreens doesn’t quite work.  You want pictures that compliment your home decor, are pretty to look at and most importantly encourage family bonds and memories. That’s where I come in.  We take beautiful pictures of your family, make them into a piece of art work in print, canvas or metal for the walls of your home and you get to enjoy them each day…even when the day is slow and all you want to do is get those monsters in bed! Don’t let those fast years pass you up.  Don’t wait for the perfect time for family pictures…the perfect time is NOW!

Last Fall I had the opportunity to do a session with the Frakes family along one of my favorite places to shoot in Parker – The Cherry Creek Trail.  The yellows of Autumn were in their prime and we had some fun playing, running and even finding mom and dad sneaking a kiss or two! I’m glad this sweet family took the time to document this time in their lives.
